Registrations for September 2023 will begin on February 1st. In order to assist with physical distancing and limiting the spread of COVID-19, schools will not be accepting any in-person registration at this time.
Register in February (in advance of the next school year) if your student:
- is starting Kindergarten next Fall (born in 2018)
- will be new (all grades) to the District next Fall
Apply in February (in advance of the next school year) to be considered for priority placement for next Fall if your student:
- would like to apply to French Immersion, Mandarin Language Arts or any of the other Secondary and Elementary Programs of Choice
- wants to attend another school other than their home school (cross-district transfer)
Current Grade 7 Students Going Into Grade 8
Students going into Grade 8 in the 2023-24 school year will receive information in the Spring about registration at their elementary school’s catchment high school as well as course selection. Therefore current Grade 7s who attend a Burnaby School District elementary school do not need to apply in February unless they are wanting to attend a high school that is outside of their catchment. Regardless of which elementary school they attend, those who want to attend a different high school from the one in their local attendance area based on their home address need to apply for a cross-district transfer, which can be found here.
